Klarite gold standard substrate

Renishaw Diagnostics has introduced Klarite, a gold standard substrate for surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy. The range provides a solution for many applications requiring trace level detection, with particular benefits within the pharmaceuticals, security and forensics sectors.

Routine detection of ppb levels is achievable, enabling Raman spectroscopy for a range of applications previously unavailable due to the inherently weak scattering observed with this method. The substrates consist of gold coated silicon, systematically designed with a sub-micron scale pattern using volume manufacturing procedures from the semiconductor industry. This proprietary manufacturing process ensures improved reproducibility between measurements, overcoming a major barrier to previous SERS analytical methods.
