Flash lamp test system

The new test system for flash lamps from Instrument Systems is particularly suitable for the measurement of solar flashes, which are used in the development and quality control of solar cells. An optical probe has been developed specifically for this purpose with a fast shutter for short light pulses of 4.5 ms.

The optical probe forms a measuring station for flash lamps in conjunction with the CAS 140CT array spectrometer. The shutter permits a short period of the flash intensity to be analysed. In order to guarantee reproducible results, the measurement system analyses the flash lamp in its stable plateau phase with reference to absolute value and spectral output. The results obtained reveal whether the solar simulator conforms to the requirements of DIN EN 60904-9.
